Skincare ingredient: Caprylyl Glycol | 1,2-Octanediol

[History and Sources]
Caprylyl Glycol is an eight-carbon chain alcohol-like compound belonging to the 1,2-diol family. First applied to the cosmetics industry in the 1980s, initially as a moisturizer. Centanol can be synthesized by esterification reaction with octanoic acid (octanoic acid) and glycerol in coconut oil or palm oil, or by chemical synthesis. The octanyl glycol in modern skin care products is mostly of synthetic origin, but the molecular structure is exactly the same as that of naturally extracted.
[Professional Benefits]
Moisturizing enhancement: Studies have shown that octyl glycol can form a thin film to reduce water evaporation, while enhancing the effectiveness of other moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, improving moisturizing effect by up to 30%.
Antibacterial and preservative: Scientific data confirms that octane glycol has an inhibitory effect on a variety of bacteria and molds, with the best antibacterial effect at pH 5.5, and is often used as a synergistic component in natural preservative systems.
Texture Optimization: Clinical tests have shown that octyl glycol improves the sensory experience of skincare products, making the product easier to push and improving penetration.
[Type and Usage]
Concentration selection: The effective concentration in skin care products is 0.1-1%, and research shows that 0.5% has been able to provide significant moisturizing and antibacterial effects.
Combined with hyaluronic acid to enhance moisturizing effect; with phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerol to form a full-effect antiseptic system - low-allergic ingredients, sensitive skin can also be used with confidence, will not cause clogged pores
